Main duties of the job

The Mental Health Practitioner will work as a member of 0-19+ service to build capacity and strengthen the existing provision in relation to emotional health and well being, creating sustainability within the service and the wider partnerships.

This will be an integrated role with the locality teams and will require the post holder to provide some consultative advice to teams and participate in delivery of training and development for other professionals.

The post holder will support the development of the 0-19+ service, working in partnership with the Local Authority, partner agencies and Primary Care Teams.

The post requires good communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to be adaptable, reliable, compassionate and approachable. You will need to have strong interpersonal and leadership skills, be flexible solution focused and support service development.

As a key stakeholder in the protection of children, you will be required to work collaboratively with other agencies to meet their needs. You will have a good knowledge of the components of Clinical Governance, Risk Management, Audits and relevant Professional Codes.

  • RN (Adult or Child//RSCN) (Minimum requirement of two years post basic training )
  • Post Graduate in Specialist Community Public Health Nursing - School Nursing/ Health Vistingivalent
  • Post graduate in therapeutic intervention / or equivalent experience.
  • Motivational Interviewing trained

Desirable

  • Solihull Approach Trained
  • Promotional Interviewing trained
  • Mentorship Level 7
  • Leadership Level 7

  • Evidence of continuing professional and personal development
