Wirral Community Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust is offering an exciting opportunity to recruit a Chief Financial Accountant.
We are looking for a dedicated and highly motivated individual to join our finance team in leading the financial accounting processes of the Trust.

The post holder would be responsible for managing the financial accounting processes of the Trust, including treasury management, ledger services, asset management and external financial reporting. Provide expert financial accounting advice relating to accounting reporting requirements and financial governance. Manage the arrangements with the ledger/financial services provider to ensure high quality services are secured, including VAT and other tax arrangements.
The post holder will also manage working capital and reporting for the Trust, influence and advise on the cash flow, debtors, and creditors to improve the efficiency, effectiveness, accuracy of the reporting.
The role would also involve managing a small finance team.
We offer flexible working with a hybrid model of working from the office base and at home.
Main duties of the job
To manage the financial accounting processes of the Trust, including treasury management, ledger services, asset management and external financial reporting.
To ensure that financial control systems meet proper stewardship of resources and that the Trust complies with accounting standards and other guidance taking into account new standards and audit recommendations.
Provide expert financial accounting advice relating to accounting reporting requirements and financial governance
Provide professional and business planning advice to the Chief Finance Officer and other Directors on all financial technical aspects including interpretation of complex changes in national policy and the financial implications for the Trust.
Acting as the lead contact for internal and external audit leading on the audit process.
Manage the arrangements with the ledger/financial services provider to ensure high quality services are secured, including VAT and other tax arrangements.
The post holder will provide leadership and stewardship in ensuring the highest possible standards of financial control are maintained and developed for all aspects of key financial system processes underpinning the accounting records relating to the Trust and its activities. They will be required to demonstrate leadership and people management skills to support and develop team members
