Job summary

We are looking for a Speech and Language Therapist to join our children's community Speech and Language Therapy team.

Main duties of the job

As a valued member of the team, you will manage a demanding but rewarding workload in order to provide an efficient and effective service. You will be a confident, self-directed individual with a strong team focus as well as being able to work independently when required. You will be able to demonstrate excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills in order to maintain our exceptional standards of care when liaising with parents and both internal and external agencies.

Essential

  • SLT degree or recognised equivalent.
  • Registered member of RCSLT
  • Registered member of HCPC

Experience & Knowledge

Essential

  • Clinical experience during training has been varied and must include access to adult caseloads
  • Can demonstrate theoretical knowledge about communication difficulties in several client groups.

Desirable

  • Any additional work experience with members of the public
  • Awareness of Total Communication

Skills & Attributes

Essential

  • Apply knowledge to clinical experience gained during training and/or work opportunities.
  • Demonstrate an awareness of Continuing Professional Development.
  • Demonstrates good auditory discrimination skills and ability to transcribe speech phonetically.
  • Recognises the importance of team working
  • Understands the principals of prioritisation

Desirable

  • Some computer skills
  • Car driver
  • Ability to produce own equipment using photocopier, computer graphics etc
  • Ability to use video/digital camera
