Job summary
Are you a GMC Registered Doctor, who would be interested in working in our UTCs. An exciting opportunity for GPs to join our team in the UTCs on an FTC basis for the next 6 months. This role is perfect for those looking to expand their experience and contribute to the dynamic and fast-paced environment of our urgent treatment centres.
Main duties of the job
This post will allow individuals to enhance their skills whilst providing clinical leadership across two UTC units in either the North (Whitworth and Buxton) or the South (Ripley and Ilkeston). The role will include providing clinical advice, leadership and support to UTC teams via face-face and long arm cover.
These are all friendly, multi-professional settings with a reputation for innovation and person-centred care.
This role will be focussed on direct patient care. The service operates 12 hours per day, 7 days per week, across North and South UTCs.

Our purpose is to provide community health services to a patient population of over one million people in Derbyshire and Derby, as part of Joined Up Care Derbyshire.
We employ around 4,200 substantive staff. In addition to our 4 UTCs we have staff caring for patients in 11 community hospitals, and more than 30 health centres, as well as in clinics, GP practices, schools, care homes and, increasingly, in people's own homes and via virtual consultations.

- A vocationally trained and accredited GP

- A good knowledge of and interest in general practice and primary and community care
- A good working knowledge and interest in national primary care strategies and ideas on how to implement these for the development locally
- Strong levels of IT proficiency and familiarity with primary care clinical systems (the Practice uses SystmOne). Experience in using the Microsoft suite of programmes
- A good understanding of general practice contracting requirements and the operation of the Quality Outcomes Framework process(QOF and QMAS)

- Experience and an interest in a specific disease area and willingness to take a leadership role in it
