Derbyshire Community Health Services NHS FT (DCHS) is offering suitable candidates the opportunity to join our dynamic, innovative and supportive Musculoskeletal (MSK) team as an Advanced Physiotherapy Practitioner (APP) within our Musculoskeletal Clinical Assessment and Triage Service (MSK CATS). DCHS is one of the UK's largest providers of specialist community health services in the UK and was recently awarded an outstanding rating by CQC.
We currently haveexiting opportunities to work within South Derbyshire, inSwadlincote and Ashbourne. The successful candidate will be the senior clinician in these areas, but will also work collaboratively with other APPs across the county.
Our MSK, First Contact Practitioner (FCP) and physiotherapy services work collaborativelyto deliver an integrated service that provides accessible and responsive care to meet the needs of patients, GPs and the wider healthcare system.
We workusing both face to face and innovative virtual service delivery models to deliver care to patients in the right place, by the right person at the right time. Within this role you will be embedded in a large and experienced MSK team who will be a source of peer support and supervision. Working within the DCHS MSK service will enable you to assess and manage a varied range of musculoskeletal conditions across the MSK pathway.
We have 2 posts full time post available, part time hours will also be considered.
Main duties of the job
We are seeking an APP in MSK who is accredited via the masters or portfolio route. Candidates must meet the standards outlined in the Multi-Professional Framework for Advanced Clinical Practice in England and the ARMA MSK Advanced Practice Standards (September 2022). If not currently accredited, candidates must demonstrate a commitment to achieving APP accreditation.
As an APP you will be required to:
Be responsible for the management of patients with MSK conditions; including requesting investigations, interpreting results and working with colleagues in the MSK service to facilitate appropriate and timely onward referrals to appropriate specialities as required, eg Orthopaedics, Rheumatology, Neurosurgery, Physiotherapy and Podiatry
Work across various parts of the MSK pathway to meet service needs, which includes completing digital triage, working in MSK CATS and FCP services.
Provide professional and clinical leadership and specialist advice to patients, senior physiotherapists, clinical specialists, GP's and other health care professionals. Show clinical leadership by being a source of advanced knowledge in the assessment, diagnosis and management of patients with MSK conditions
Educate and train other Physiotherapists and Healthcare professionals
Provide assessment and treatment using remote and face to face consultations
Participate in and lead on service improvement projects, audit and research where appropriate
