Job summary

Derbyshire Community Health Services has a great opportunity for a Technical Instructor to join our Musculoskeletal Outpatient Physiotherapy team.

This role is based in Ashbourne and Belper in the Derbyshire area which offers an easy commute from neighbouring counties.

This job is advertised as part time but full time hours may be considered. Various hours are available to support flexible working

We offer a supportive environment with senior clinical mentorship and leadership support across all of our teams. We have an established CPD offering and in service training programme.

Main duties of the job

The post will be flexible to move across sites according to the department and service needs and therefore the ability to travel will be essential.

As a Technical Instructor working within our service you will:

  • Provide highly skilled support to Physiotherapists, aiding the rehabilitation of patients in the Outpatient Physiotherapy Service.
  • Provide initial assessment for designated patient groups, as agreed with Physiotherapy Team Lead
  • Work single handed and unsupervised when appropriate in out-patient department, without direct supervision or presence of a Physiotherapist
  • To plan and provide ongoing treatment, education and instruction to their caseload of patients seen in both individual and group settings. This will include some evaluation and progression of treatment programmes with access to the support of a Physiotherapist if required.
  • To provide support to the Physiotherapy Co-ordinator, providing telephone cover and undertaking clerical duties as needed.
