Due to the planned retirement of our current Practice Manager we are looking for a new Practice Manager to lead our team at Ripley Medical Centre.

Ripley Medical Centre is part of Derbyshire Community Health Services NHS Foundation Trust, which operates a handful of GP practices under its General Practice Service.

The practice serves 5,700+ patients from its surgery site in the heart of Ripley. It has a team of 5x GPs, 3x ACPs and a nursing team. It is also a training practice, and regularly hosts a number of GP Registrars.

The post-holder will be a member of the service's Senior Management Team, and will work with the practice's Clinical Lead in order to maintain effective running of the practice.

The right candidate will have experience of a management/leadership position, ideally in a busy general practice setting.

This would be a great opportunity for an excellent Deputy Practice Manager who is ready to step-up into a Practice Manager role.

Main duties of the job

The Practice Manager will have a wide range of duties, working in a busy and often challenging environment.

The post-holder will be a positive and effective leader. They will provide leadership and management skills to enable the practice to meet their agreed aims and objectives, including compliance with contracts and regulators, within a profitable, efficient, safe and effective manner.

They will line-manage the practice administration team, and provide managerial support to the clinical team in collaboration with the Clinical Lead.

They will have overall accountability for their respective site(s), including contracts, health and safety, maintenance, equipment and furnishings.

They will be a member of the Service Management Team and will therefore contribute to the overall management of the service, contributing to the strategic planning, implementation, monitoring, management, and achievement of the service's objectives.

They will support the development and maintenance of a positive culture across the practice.
