Foxley is a 26 bedded unit providing rehabilitation to a wide group of patients with varying complexities of needs. Our patients come to us following medical, surgical or orthopaedic treatment or if appropriate, directly from their own homes.

Good opportunities exist for further training and development.You will receive support/development through in service training, regular appraisals and clinical supervision.This post involves rotation between day and night duties.

Main duties of the job

You will be responsible for their practice in accordance with NMC. Continue development highlighted through the appraisal process, attend mandatory/specific training .

You will plan and assess programmes of care with consultation of patient, family and multidisciplinary team being sensitive to patients needs , dignity and privacy.

You will promote effective communication with the multi-professional team. Support patients to make choices about adopting a healthier lifestyle .

You will recommend innovative changes in clinical practice, participate in audit processes and action outcomes. Promote a 'nurse led' approach to care. Taking on a 'Link nurse' role .

You will be ensuring the safe control and custody of drugs in line with Trust Policy / local Standard Operating Procedures.

You will be Informing the Nurse in Charge of changes in circumstances which may affect safe and competent practice.Maintain excellent documentation., IT systems are maintained in a timely manner.

Current UK NMC registration, level 1. Working towards Degree (desirable) Experience of working within a multidisciplinary team. Experience of working with patients with multiple pathologies and developing and delivering care plans designed to meet their needs. Appropriate short clinical skills e.g. venepuncture.(desirable) Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. Basic computer skills. Ability to maintain and improve standards of care. Experience of resource management. (desirable) Experience of a research audit (desirable)
