Job summary
We would like to invite applications from Clinical Psychologists with experience of working with children and young people to join our hardworking, multi-disciplinary team. The Starfish Team delivers a countywide service offering assessment and intervention for children aged 5-18 with a diagnosed learning disability who are experiencing significant behavioral and/or mental health difficulties.
The person will be passionate and enthusiastic in their approach to service delivery and committed to improving the lives of children and young people.
We welcome applications from newly qualified Psychologists, on the understanding that the post will be rated at Band 7, until completion of preceptorship.
Main duties of the job
They will work alongside experienced Clinical and Counselling Psychologists, Assistant Psychologists, Lead and Specialist Children's Learning Disability Nurses, Specialist Family Support Workers, an Occupational Therapist, a Speech & Language Therapist, a Systemic Family Psychotherapist, a Communication and Therapy Assistant Practitioner, a Clinical Coordinator and other professionals involved in the assessment and planning of interventions for children and their families.
You will be expected to use a range of assessment skills, interviews with parents and carers, and observations in a range of settings, to inform the assessment and diagnostic process as well as the planning and provision of interventions.
There will be opportunities to contribute to the supervision, teaching and training of other professionals within the team.
The post is covering both Central and East Norfolk and therefore the base location is negotiable.

- Experience of working with a wide variety of client groups, across the whole life course presenting problems that reflect the full range of clinical severity including maintaining a high degree of professionalism in the face of highly emotive and distressing problems, verbal abuse and the threat of physical abuse.
Skills, Ability & Knowledge

- Planning and organising skills for caseload management
