An exciting opportunity has arisen within Norfolk Community Health and Care Trust for an AHP to join the community research team based in Norwich. We are searching for an enthusiastic and dynamic AHP interested in working in the field of clinical research. You will work with research study teams and clinicians within NCHC and outside of the region to ensure efficient set up and delivery of a portfolio of studies to time and target. Although this post is advertised as a band 6 post we are also open to applications to a band 5 development post and fixed term and secondment requests will also be considered. Self development is important for this role and training is readily available to the successful applicant. Main duties of the job

The primary role of this Practitioner is to lead on the day-to-day running of National Institute of Health Research (NIHR) portfolio studies , in the area of Therapy.

Primarily, the post-holder will be responsible for ensuring that research participants' recruitment procedures, treatments, assessments, follow-ups and data collections are delivered according to the approved research protocols. This will involve close liaison with research teams, including study sponsors, Trust services and Research & Development to set-up and deliver research studies across Norfolk Community Health & Care NHS Trust.

The post-holder will be expected to assist in local research set-up and confidently promote research amongst clinicians, service users, carers and the wider NHS.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Diploma or 1st Level degree in Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy, or equivalent experience
  • Current HCPC registration
  • Clinical educators course
  • Experience of working in Primary/Community care setting

Desirable

  • Good Clinical Practice (GCP) trained

Knowledge, skills and ability

Essential

  • Evidence of working at a relevant level
  • Knowledge of additional specialist areas through in-house training & short courses
  • Evidence of previous community experience
  • Good communication skills
  • Highly motivated
  • Ability to use own initiative
  • Ability to disseminate complex information to a wide variety of audiences
  • Demonstrate good IT and standard keyboard skills
  • Work flexibly to accommodate patient/service needs
  • Ability to form a quick rapport with research participants and research study team

  • Experience in community led research
  • Concentrate when undertaking patient care & inputting data/patient records
  • Knowledge of research delivery

  • Be able to: kneel, bend & stoop, and work in cramped environments, manoeuvre limbs of around 5-6 kg, manoeuvre patients using handling aids
  • Must hold full and valid driving licence and have access to a vehicle
