Applicants must be on the UK's specialist register or within 6 months of their award of certificate of completion of training (CCT) or be an established Consultant.

Main duties of the job

The post may suit a dermatologist who wishes to develop their own ways of working outside a large centre, and who wants to work with the Medical Director and senior Trust managers to develop an innovative service at a Trust which values different ways of working. You may bring a special interest with you, or you may prefer to develop one (with support to do so) once you are established in the role.

Applicants must be eligible for full registration with the GMC at the time of appointment.

Applicant must have entry on the GMC Specialist Register via one of the following:

1) Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT)

(the proposed CCT date must be within 6 months of the interview)

2) Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR)

(CESR candidates must have written GMC confirmation upon successful application)

Services offered by the department include 2 week wait and general outpatient dermatology clinics with dedicated skin surgery facility, TL01 Phototherapy, photodynamic therapy, patch testing, biologics service, Advice and Guidance and drug monitoring clinics.

We also hold specialist multidisciplinary skin cancer meetings and regular teaching sessions. All consultants have the Regional Dermatology Grand Round at Broadgreen Hospital as part of their SPA time, which contributes to their continuing professional development.
