Job summary
This
is a new position within our Trust. We are looking for a well-motivated Centre
manager to take forward the new Driving Assessment team objectives, marketing
plan and business case to see ongoing re-accreditation, growth strategy and
compliance with Driving Mobility standards. You will engage and advocate the
team with external partners including Driving Mobility and Department for
Transport and Police (TBC) in additional to Bridgewater itself
The
Team comprises of varied staff responsible for the assessment of various
driving and adaptations needed to continue driving. This is a team of 11 staff
including Driving instructors, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and
Administration.
We
have (owned) Vehicles on site which are adapted for various factors which are
used for the main part of driving assessment.
Driving
Mobility is the overarching governing body (Charity) that oversees standards in
all National Centres however Bridgewater is one of only a few that runs this
under the NHS
Main duties of the job
To be responsible and accountable for ensuring the delivery of
safe, effective, and efficient care to service users and their carers within
NWDAS.
Understand & manage the flow of assessment activity ensuring
the scheduling of activity meets projected demand.
Develop a growth strategy focused both on financial gain and
customer satisfaction to offer a centre of excellence within the Driving
Mobility Field.
Lead and co-ordinate the activities of the Regional Transport
Hub, ensuring the functions of the Transport Hub are supported by the relevant
expertise of staff within the service & in conjunction with the Clinical
Lead, monitor & manage the staff resource and skill mix to meet the demands
of the service, prioritising clinical activity and risk effectively. Be
responsible for the full operational management of the service. Work with the
Clinical Lead to ensure the service meets the Accreditation requirements of
*Driving Mobility Motivate, engage, and develop the team within a
multi-disciplinary team environment. Support the NWDAS team in planning,
including strategic long-term planning and adjusting the service in response to
new initiatives/ new ways of working and developments. Promote the wellbeing
and maximise independence of service users within the specialty. provide
compassionate care that is based on empathy, kindness, respect, and dignity

- Establish and maintain excellent working relationships, communicating

service user forums to develop focus groups on planning for driving cessation,
and raising awareness of the various transport schemes available
- Have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written,
and be able to clearly articulate the needs of service users across a complex
service area - collaborating with and involve others as well as act independently.
- Develop partnerships with other statutory and voluntary
organisations involved in transport and community involvement.
