Job summary

Halton OOH District Nursing service, are seeking a committed and enthusiastic individual to join their team as a Nursing Assistant/ Admin, covering 4 evenings per week (5pm-10pm)

Applicants must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, have a Patient centered approach to care, be highly motivated and able to work autonomously as well as part of a team.

The district nursing service provides nursing care to the housebound population of Halton to patients in their own homes as well as residential care homes.

Main duties of the job

You will work under the direction of the District Nursing team Leader/ Sister:

  • The post holder will undertake clinical interventions under the direction of a Team leader
  • Maintain accurate documentation on the IT System/records.
  • Assist in ensuring equipment/environment is clean according to the Infection Control Guidelines.
  • Liaise with other clinicians / administration, reporting as appropriate
  • To provide clerical support for district nursing team

  • To work competently performing basic clinical skills as directed by a district nursing sister, i.e. basic dressing techniques
  • Monitor stock levels and re-order required items utilising Shared Business Services
  • Ensure environment and equipment is clean according to Infection Control Guidelines.
  • Ensure safe storage and transfer of blood samples/other to the laboratory.

To communicate and liaise with other team members, reporting any changes in the patients condition

  • Provide support and advice to patients, relatives and carers.
  • Work collaboratively with other health professionals within the clinic.
  • Promote peoples equality, diversity and rights.
  • Organisational Duties
  • Contribute to the development of services.
  • Ensure the effective and efficient use of resources.
