Job summary
Are you a qualified nurse and have a passion for working with children and young people? Do you have an interest in vaccinations and are motivated to improve the Flu vaccine uptake for this population? If so, then why not come join our School Aged Immunisation Service (SAIS) as we deliver the Flu Programme in Leeds from October 2023 until January 2024. We are offering full or part time hours in fix term, term time only contracts. You will be part of a supportive and dedicated team of Nurses, Immunisation Support Workers and Administrators who work collaboratively to deliver Flu immunisations to the children and young people of Leeds, according to the National Influenza Programme. You will be responsible for maintaining the safe storage, transportation, and administration of Flu vaccines across Leeds, primarily in schools. All our nurses receive Clinical Supervision and Child Protection Supervision and are expected to recognise and address any safeguarding issues that may arise.
Main duties of the job
As a Flu Immunisation Nurse, you will have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to have positive conversations regarding immunisations with young people, parents, and school-based staff; you will be flexible to change and able to work across the city at our immunisation sessions primarily held within school settings. Previous experience in immunising would be advantageous but individuals with a keen interest and potential will also be considered as we offer a robust induction and training package. Our working hours are 8am - 5pm Monday to Friday all year around, however some flexibility outside of these hours are welcome as we also provide school-based immunisations in community settings outside of these hours. Do you want to be part of a team who all work well together and have the drive for improving Flu immunisation outcomes for children and young people? Then why not apply now and join us during this exciting time of service development for our SAIS team?
