Job summary
We have an exciting
opportunity for an appropriately qualified and experienced senior clinician
(e.g. speech therapist, occupational therapist, clinical psychologist, nurse
specialist) to join the school-age neurodevelopmental assessment team.
We
provide high-quality, NICE compliant assessment of school-age children with
atypical neurodevelopmental presentations, including possible autism, attention
deficit hyperactive disorder and co-occurring intellectual disability.
The ND team is based in West Leeds and clinics are run across the city. The
post will be mostly office based with some flexible home working arrangements
as appropriate.
Main duties of the job
You will play a key role in delivering all aspects of
neurodevelopment assessment clinics, including parental interview,
structured young persons assessment and observations, MDT discussions
and diagnostic decision-making, and report writing. As a senior clinician
you be part of the ND leadership team, taking on additional
responsibilities in the pathway. You will co-ordinate one of the clinics,
offer supervision, consultation and support to colleagues from varying
disciplines within and outside of the pathway.
The service is in a
process of significant development as we adapt to meet the changing needs
of the ND population. This will include responsibilities to support
service development and improvement. This may lead to opportunities to
deliver training, or offer post-assessment work in groups or
individually. We support the development of staff through access to CPD
training and events. You will be offered a high level of support and
supervision from a senior clinician.

responsible for delivering and leading highly specialist clinical care to their
own caseload and service within their speciality area. In doing so, they will
assess, plan, deliver and evaluate patient centred programmes of care ensuring that
