We are looking to recruit a Clinical Team Manager for our
small Learning disability team based within the MindMate Support Service in
Leeds CYPMHS. The team supports children and young people with a
moderate to severe Learning Disability that are experiencing issues around
their behavioural presentation.
Our team are passionate about positive behaviour support and
the successful candidate will be supporting the team to train and develop
skills within this, as we refine our City-Wide offer. There will be a high
degree of partnership working alongside stakeholders and internal and external
teams and agencies to ensure our team are providing children, young people and
their families with the best offer to maximise potential and enhance their
quality of life.
We need someone with a good clinical background in Learning
disabilities to manage and take this team forward. This post will appeal to
anyone who is passionate about making a difference due to the scope within the
role for innovative practice and partnership working.
We would be really interested in applications from Nurses,
Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language therapists and social workers that
have a skill set and experience in LD.
Main duties of the job
As Clinical Team Manager you will
be leading the Learning Disability Team. Supporting team members in both
Clinical and operational matters.
The multi-disciplinary team works across Leeds, alongside all of the
services and settings that are involved in supporting the child/young person.
Striving to ensure the reduction of health inequalities by promoting physical
and mental health for our children and young people.
Using a holistic assessment, team members identify the strengths and needs
of the young person with an Intellectual Disability. Via a Positive Behaviour
Support Model, we identify behavioural difficulties offering recommendations to
enable families to meet the potential of their child. This includes delivering
both Education Groups and bespoke individual intervention with Children &
Young People.
As the Team Manager you will support colleagues as well as lead
on developing our service further. Developing and leading on the implementation
of existing and new processes of care.
As the Learning Disability Team Manager, you will be a part of the
MindMate Support Service leadership Team, comprised of other Team Managers and
Band 7 clinicians. As well as having the support of other Team Managers in
MindMate Support Team and wider CYPMHS and the Service Managers in CYPMHS
The successful applicant will receive an induction, training as needed and
supervision; The opportunity to engage in personal development and be involved
in continuous improvement of the service.
