Specialist Safeguarding Advisor - Adults

Job summary

A rare and exciting opportunity for a full time, band 6, Safeguarding Advisor has arisen within Leeds Community Healthcare (LCH). The Safeguarding team are looking for a qualified Nurse/Allied Professional who is an enthusiastic autonomous practitioner with a keen desire to improve outcomes for vulnerable adults and children in Leeds. The successful candidate will be expected to work within LCH corporate safeguarding team across all aspects of safeguarding with specific responsibility around the safeguarding adults agenda. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate a reasonable knowledge base and experience of Safeguarding Adults in practice and its important to possess effective communication & networking skills. The role is often highly emotive and diverse which for the right individual will offer lots of variation. This role requires a dynamic, assertive, resilient, and caring individual with an enquiring mind. Ideally the candidate will also have the skills and confidence to provide constructive respectful challenge where required.

Main duties of the job

Key duties/responsibilities of the role will include: Providing advice to the LCH workforce on safeguarding adults concerns. Designing, updating and facilitating safeguarding training in line with RCN Intercollegiate Document guidance. Representing LCH in multi-agency safeguarding meetings and strategy discussions. Collating, analysing and interpreting health information that is necessary to safeguard and or promote the welfare of a child or adult, whilst maintaining due regard to patient confidentiality. Audit, data collection, identifying themes and trends. Facilitating safeguarding adults and domestic abuse champions networks and ensuring key safeguarding messages are communicated throughout the Trust Contributing to statutory review processes and dissemination of identified learning Maintaining own contemporaneous knowledge of safeguarding adults themes and legislation.
