Main duties of the job

You will handle confidential and sensitive information, often distressing in nature and ensure clear, accurate and timely communication to support patient care. A calm and professional demeanour is essential in this fast-paced service with conflicting priorities as you will be the first point of contact for patient calls.

You will support clinical team members by sharing patient information, assisting with IT use and providing overnight administrative support. Strong customer service and telephone skills are essential as you will often assist patients in difficult situations.

Excellent IT skills are necessary for using the electronic patient records system (SystmOne) and supporting staff with IT issues overnight. You will handle confidential information appropriately and possess strong problem-solving skills to assist the senior nurse with ad hoc issues such as staff sickness.

Considerable Administrative experience is required. NHS and SystmOne knowledge is desirable but not essential.

Hours of work are 21:15-07:15 with a 30-minute unpaid break and includes weekends and bank holidays.
