Job summary
We are looking for a dedicated Bank Pharmacy Technician to join our team and help us deliver excellent patient-centred care. In this flexible role, you will support our pharmacy team with medicines optimisation and day-to-day operations. You'll play an important part in ensuring patients receive the right medicines at the right time, while working shifts that fit around your lifestyle. This is a great opportunity for someone who values teamwork, accuracy and making a positive difference. As part of our bank workforce, you will help maintain safe and efficient pharmacy operations during periods of increased demand, staff absence, or peak activity.

Main duties of the job
Key Responsibilitieso Support medicines reconcilliations, including accuracy checks within scope of practice.
o Provide clear, professional advice to patients, carers, and clinical colleagues.o Assist with stock control, ordering, expiry-date checking, and inventory management.o Contribute to medicines optimisation initiatives and safe medicines management.o Work collaboratively with pharmacists, technicians, and wider clinical teams.o Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with all relevant policies and procedures.o Adapt to different areas of the pharmacy service depending on operational needs.

- Is registered with the GPhC as a Pharmacy Technician
- Professional Qualifications: BTEC Pharmaceutical Science and NVQ Level 3 in Pharmacy
- Qualified to administer medicines to patients using electronic prescriptions or has a willingness to work towards completing this competency
- Accredited Accuracy Checking Technician Qualification
- Able to demonstrate degree level or equivalent post registration experience as a Pharmacy Technician
- Maintains a portfolio of CPD in line with regulatory body standards
Knowlege and Skills
Essential
- Knowledge of using search engines/medical databases to retrieve information
- Experience of using Pharmacy systems
- Proficient in all Microsoft Office and Excel software
- Evidence of undertaking medicine management audits
- Evidence of good analytical skills and shows attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy
- Demonstrate accurate numeric skills
- Good knowledge of pharmacy practice and clinical governance initiatives relating to medicines
- Good understanding of law and ethics related to prescribing, storage and handling of pharmaceuticals
