Applicants are invited for the above post to join our small Administration Team supporting The Advanced primary Care Service (APCS), you will be responsible for providing a high standard of administrative support to ensure effective referral pathway and appointment procedures for our patients and provide assistance for the APCS clinical teams.
The post holder will be responsible for receiving telephone calls to arrange and reschedule patient appointments, processing new e-referrals, providing support to the clinical team, to distribute and place stock orders for both clinic locations.
Main duties of the job
You must possess excellent administrative and time management skills, be computer literate and be able to deal with complex information, complaints and at times, contentious telephone calls from patients. Knowledge of medical terminology and previous experience of RIO, e-referrals, Summary Care Record & Oracle would be an advantage but not essential.
- To be the first point of contact for all services within locality area.
- Answer and deal with all telephone enquiries from Health Care Professionals, Service Users and Carers in a courteous, professional and confident manner sign posting as appropriate and necessary.
- Maintain appropriate records both manually and computerised for all referrals for all services.
- Deal direct with the patients and carers working within the relevant service guidelines.
This post will be based in Telford, however an ability to travel to our current sites at Bridgnorth, Oswestry and Shrewsbury would be beneficial.
