Shropshire Community Health NHS Trust is expanding our Virtual Ward service and we're looking for a Pharmacy Technician to join our growing Pharmacy Team.Our Virtual Ward provides hospital-level care to patients in their own homes, supporting conditions such as respiratory, cardiology, and frailty. The aim is to prevent avoidable hospital admissions and enable early discharge, ensuring patients receive high-quality care in the comfort of their familiar surroundings.

Main duties of the job
As a Pharmacy Technician within the virtual ward team, you'll play a key role in supporting safe and effective medication management. You will:
- Provide high-quality pharmaceutical and technical services directly to Virtual Ward patients.
- Participate in medication reviews and clinical audits.
- Play a crucial role in medication management during care transitions into and out of the Virtual Ward environment.
- Conduct home visits to patients in their own homes or care settings to offer holistic pharmaceutical care and assess medicines concordance.
- Collaborate with the MDT to develop and enhance the pharmacy services provided by our virtual wards.
You will work alongside an experienced Senior Pharmacy Technician, who will mentor and develop you, and have the support of the Principal Pharmacist for Virtual Wards.

- Professional Qualifications: BTEC Pharmaceutical Science and NVQ Level 3 in Pharmacy
- Current Registration as a Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council
- Qualified to administer medicines to patients using electronic prescriptions or has a willingness to work towards completing this competency.
- Able to demonstrate degree level or equivalent post registration experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
- Maintains a portfolio of CPD in line with regulatory body standards

- Demonstrable post qualification experience in a patient facing role
- Able to demonstrate post-qualification experience working within a multi-disciplinary team
- Demonstrable experience of providing a pharmacy service on a hospital ward and counselling patients
