Job summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated Band 4 Rehabilitation Technician to join our friendly Falls Team. This busy service provides a high standard of falls therapy assessment and treatment to the local community.

This post would be suitable for an experienced Band 3 or existing Band 4 Rehabilitation Technician demonstrating a good range of experience with evidence of recent work with the older adult population and an enthusiasm for this speciality. Professional support is provided by senior clinicians and we encourage clinical supervision and training.

The post holder will work as part of a team delivering evidence based falls assessment and treatment within the community setting, in venues across Shropshire. Your role will also include supporting the team in the day-to-day running of the service.

Main duties of the job

  • The post holder will assist in the identification of client problems and the setting of appropriate objectives using agreed standardised documents.
  • The post holder will assist / deliver a Falls Therapy Programme using evidenced based group exercise programmes in various locations county-wide, as directed.
  • The post holder will facilitate discussion groups in Falls Therapy Programmes as directed by Falls Therapy Team.
  • If required, the post holder will provide and instruct clients on use of appropriate walking aids, safe use of stairs, 'on/off floor' advice. As well, as undertaking environmental assessments and other clinical investigations (e.g. blood pressure monitoring) as deemed appropriate.
  • The post holder will organise and undertake supporting administration as directed, to support the running of the Falls Therapy programme, and the Falls Service in general.
  • The post holder will assist, and/or run appropriate training/information sessions to interested parties, both in Trust and externally to help raise awareness of Falls Prevention and the profile of the Falls Therapy Service.
  • The post holder will be at times required to work flexibly assisting other members of their own team and other teams as required.
