Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen within Shropshire Community Health NHS Trust for an apprentice Front of House Receptionist to work at Coral House, in Shrewsbury. The post is for 37.5 hours per week and will primarily cover reception from 8:30-5:00, Monday-Friday.

The successful candidate will act as a first and central point of contact for all enquiries and visitors to the site, which hosts adults and children's services. We are looking for individuals that will have an interest in administration, have good organisational skills and who would thrive in a busy environment.

You will be fully supported on an apprenticeship course and will gain valuable work experience and a recognised qualification: Level 2 Customer Service Practitioner. We require applicants to be accurate, organised, computer literate with good keyboard skills and the ability to prioritise/organise work as well as having excellent communication skills, a pleasant phone manner, be able to work as part of a team or self-directed and commit to the completion of the apprentice qualification.

This post is fixed term for 18 months and during that time you will receive training and on-going support to enable you to use the systems and processes required to undertake the role and complete your apprenticeship. You must be able to meet the travel requirements of the post.

Main duties of the job

  • To be the first point of contact for all face to face and telephone calls to Coral House reception and greet visitors in a courteous, professional and confident manner sign posting as appropriate and necessary.
  • To provide reception duties to include meeting and greeting visitors, opening, date stamping, sorting and distributing post as necessary, franking post etc.
  • Support a confidential reception and administration service to all Children's Therapy services.
