Job summary

Digital Services are a corporate support service within Shropshire Community Health NHS Trust, encompassing Information, Electronic Patient Record (EPR), IT and Digital Training Services.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work in the EPR Configuration Team within the EPR Team, we have a long established Rio EPR.

We are looking for an innovative information professional who will work closely with the rest of the EPR Team to develop system functionality, and provide advice and guidance to all services within the Trust.

The role will be both interesting and challenging, and will entail providing technical supervision to other members of the Configuration Team, along with supporting clinicians and senior managers in the functionality of RiO.

To support our requirements, applicants will have demonstrable specialist knowledge and experience of systems development using a range of tools; with particular expertise in some or all of the following; EPR Configuration including SQL, HTML, XML, XSLT and CSS. Knowledge of relational database design, support and data migration would be advantageous as would exposure to Virtual Assistants and mobile disconnected working products.

Main duties of the job

In the context of providing configuration and support services for the Rio Electronic Patient Record:

  • Providing day to day support and co-ordination to first line Information/Rio staff, to include training in areas of lead specialism.
  • Providing in association with other members of the Information and Rio Teams a responsive and client focused service that delivers high quality information and associated support services to our clients, both internal and external.
  • Guided by principles and broad occupational policy, the postholder will contribute to the successful delivery of the Organisations' objectives and will interpret and advise on policy and guidelines.
  • Working both autonomously and as part of the Information Team the postholder will be required to act independently, exercising significant discretion in respect of their lead area of specialism.

Provide specialist configuration and analytical support, interpretation and reporting within the EPR to other departments within the Trust including:

  • Provide specialist advice and guidance on Rio configuration and information analysis to services and specialist groups e.g. Service Delivery Groups, commissioning leads.
  • Continue the ongoing development and maintenance of the Trusts' Electronic Patient Record e.g. lead on the design and development of Rio Configuration.
  • Ensure the continuing development and provision of EPR related information and functionality to support the Trust.
