Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced, highly motivated and enthusiastic musculoskeletal advanced practice physiotherapist to join the Telford Musculoskeletal Services. The service provides an integrated outpatient clinical assessment and treatment service for patients presenting with musculoskeletal conditions.

  • 25 Hours per week

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be responsible for the electronic triage of referrals and assessment and treatment of musculoskeletal conditions, including complex conditions. They will be expected to work outside of the scope of usual physiotherapy practice for example requesting imaging and blood tests, injection therapy and ultrasonography. The management of patients will include referral for conservative management, education and advice, referrals to orthopaedics, rheumatology and pain management.

The successful applicant will have experience as a senior musculoskeletal physiotherapist in an outpatient setting. They will be a team player and experienced in supervising staff. They should have evidence of highly specialist or expert clinical training in the relevant areas to enable advanced practice. Injection therapy and ultrasonography skills are desirable but training in these areas would be considered. They should also be able to demonstrate effective communication and problem-solving skills.

To manage, assess and treat own highly specialist caseload of complex musculoskeletal patients in clinic as an autonomous practitioner within scope of the role.
