Job summary

Shropshire Community Health NHS Trust is investing in the expansion of the Resourcing Department. We have a variety of exciting opportunities available within the team.

This post sits in the Recruitment Team within the Resourcing Services of the People Directorate and works closely with our Electronic Staff Record (ESR), human resources and organisational development teams making this is a varied and interesting role.

We are looking for a candidate with excellent communication skills and is eager to learn. We have teamed up with Telford College to support this apprenticeship to undertake and complete a Level 3 Business Administration course.

Main duties of the job

This post will provide the right candidate with experience working in an administrative role and a busy environment. They will be able to develop your skills, such as word and excel and use other computer programmes as we use two national systems for recruiting our staff.

We will provide in-house training and support and you will have the opportunity to develop new skills and knowledge whilst working within a friendly and established team.

You will be friendly and approachable, you should enjoy working in a busy team. You will gain experience in various admin tasks supporting the ESR and HR teams whilst maintaining standards and following trust procedures.

You don't need to have worked in healthcare before, as long as you possess the above qualities and are willing and eager to learn new skills.

  • Good general education including GCSE English and Maths Level C or 4
  • Willingness to undertake and satisfactorily complete a Level 3 Business Administration apprenticeship within 18 months

Experience

Essential

  • Work experience of liaising with the public on the telephone and / or face-to-face
  • Demonstrable experience of using word processing, database packages and other computer systems

Knowledge and Skills

Essential

  • Demonstrable knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of software
  • Ability or willingness to learn how, to communicate effectively and sensitively with colleagues, members of the public and others from a variety of backgrounds.
  • Ability to work with limited supervision but seek advice when appropriate.
  • Able to carry out basic clerical tasks following instruction
  • Ability to prioritise and organise own work to meet deadlines
  • Ability to understand the importance of confidentiality and to maintain confidentiality at all times as necessary
  • Ability to work on own or as part of a team
