Job summary

Shropshire Community Health NHS Trusts childrens occupational therapy team provides a range of community-based health services for children in Shropshire and Telford and Wrekin, for children aged 0 -18.

We are looking for Band 6 Occupational Therapists to join our Bank to support flexible working arrangements within our team.

Are you looking for experience of working within childrens community occupational therapy services assessing and treating with children with developmental coordination disorders and physical disabilities.

Main duties of the job

You will need to have a sound knowledge of assessments and interventions used with these client groups or be able to demonstrate that you have transferable skills from working with adults . You will need to be familiar with report writing and be able to evidence that you have used goal setting and outcome measures within your practice. You should be able to evidence that you have the developed skills that may be required to liaise with multidisciplinary teams of health, education, and social care professionals.

The successful applicant will be part of an enthusiastic and friendly team of childrens therapists and assistants. To undertake the comprehensive assessment of Children, young people and their needs, including those with complex presentations, using investigative and analytical skills single handed or jointly.

To develop appropriate discharge plans involving other members of the team if required and communicate these effectively.

To communicate with referring agent in order to keep them informed of progress and change.

  • Current registration with the Health Professions Council
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development.
