Job summary

Are you looking for a new challenge?

We are inviting applicants to join us in the childrens Physiotherapy team to support with service delivery, providing new assessment and follow up interventions for babies and children in the community and helping us to develop our current and any new services.

As a successful applicant you will have highly developed clinical decision-making skills to support childrens assessment and care management. You will be confident in working in a flexible and responsive way. You will understand about effective partnership working especially with children and young people, parents and educators.

  • Both full-time and part-time positions available.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will take a leading role in assessing and supporting the evolving identification of physical needs of children/ young people. You may have experience in working with children in early years, with long term conditions, MSK, or with respiratory conditions

We will support you through supervision and peer support.

To develop and maintain the skills required to practise at a level commensurate within the community.

To accept responsibility for a designated caseload of patients, and to organise this caseload effectively and efficiently with regard to priorities and use of time.

Able to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions, liaising with colleagues and partners to ensure an integrated approach to the needs of the service user.

To analyse and interpret information to inform interventions with a clear timescale for review while working with a wide range of complex conditions and situations.

  • Degree or Diploma in Physiotherapy
  • Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council
  • Evidence of continued professional development.

Experience

Essential

  • Experience of planning and providing clinical care to adults or children and young people with physiotherapy needs.
  • Experience of working in a variety of settings.
  • Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary/multi agency environment

Knowledge and Skills

Essential

  • Good knowledge of physiotherapy core skills and processes.
  • Demonstration of knowledge of child development.
  • Awareness of recent developments in practice and research including NSFs/NICE guidelines .
  • Previous experience of delivering programmes of care.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding children and young people.
  • Engaging and empowering approach that seeks to work with others and deliver outcomes in a successful and well informed manner.
  • Understanding of clinical governance and risk management and their implications for the service.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Competent in the use of IT.
