We are looking for a part time health care assistant in our busy Sexual Health Clinic in Stevenage. Sexual Health Hertfordshire is commissioned to deliver genitourinary medicine, contraception care and manage HIV care within the community. If this interests you, we would be delighted to hear from you.
Main duties of the job
To provide high standards of care to patients with sexual health needs and to ensure the smooth running of the clinical environment. The post holder will be required to deliver care, under the guidance and supervision of a Registered Nurse or Medical Doctor within community based sexual health clinics.
The post holder will be responsible for:

Health, Safety and Security
Service Improvement and Quality
The service runs 5 days per week between 8am and 8pm.
The post holder may be required to work in any of the sites covered by the service in line with service development and need.

Education/Qualification
Essential
- Higher Professional Diploma in Health and Wellbeing (NVQ/QCF - Level 3) OR
- A recognised equivalent course in health and/or social care validated by the Regulated Qualification Framework (RQF) or a Level 3 or higher course in a health and/or social care from a Higher Education Institute
- A formal academic qualification in any subject from a college or university of Level 3
- plus two years care delivery in a health or social care setting
Desirable
- GCSE grade 9 - 4 (A - C) or equivalent in English and Maths
- Registration with the national regulatory body (when it becomes available).
- Willingness to undertake further training as appropriate
Experience
Essential
- Experience of working in a health or social care setting
- Competent in the use of Microsoft Office (e.g., Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook) with experience of inputting to databases, spreadsheets and/or other IT systems and business applications used in the office environment
Desirable
- Experience of working in a customer service role
- Experience with the NHS patient information database (Rio, CIS)

- Knowledge of NHS
- Understanding of the need for confidentiality and management of sensitive records
- An awareness of risk management.
- Knowledge of multi-agency services available and processes for referral
- Knowledge of the effects of the ageing process and needs of vulnerable young people and adults in relation to their health and well-being.

- Ability to work under pressure, prioritise effectively and manage competing demands.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and lone work
- Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills
