Job summary

We are seeking a highly professional and organised Receptionist to join our Front of House team at Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust. As the first point of contact, you will play a key role in delivering a high-quality, efficient and welcoming front of house service.

We're looking for someone who brings a helpful and approachable presence to the front desk, with the ability to create a positive and memorable experience for all service users. You should have strong communication skills, excellent attention to detail, and be passionate about delivering outstanding care to patients.

The ideal candidate will be confident managing multiple priorities, able to remain calm and kind under pressure, and take initiative when faced with challenges. You'll also need to be highly competent with computers, as the role involves regular use of digital systems and tools to support efficient and accurate service delivery.

Main duties of the job

  • Provide a warm, professional welcome to all service users, directing them to the appropriate departments or services.
  • Ensure all service users are treated with dignity and respect at all times, and that any personal information is communicated with sensitivity, discretion, and professionalism.
  • Ensure all messages, whether via telephone, email, or written notes, are accurately recorded and promptly relayed, seeking clarification when needed.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all clinics, booking systems, and associated protocols/templates, and proactively suggest improvements where appropriate.
  • Confirm appointments with service users in advance, using telephone or written communication as appropriate.
  • Support the upkeep of a clean and safe environment for all, adhering to fire safety and health and safety guidelines.
  • Work collaboratively with clinical teams to support effective patient flow and service delivery.
  • Provide receptionist cover at other sites when required, maintaining a consistent high standard of service across locations.
