Job summary

Central London Community Healthcare has a new opportunity for Community Nursery Nurses to join the inner northwest division and work in Westminster with the Health Visiting Service. We have a vacancy in Queen's Park Children's Centre. The Borough has undergone transformation, leading to the implementation of universal and targeted teams that are aligned to family hubs and the wider early help programme.

Main duties of the job

To carry out activities of the Healthy Child Programme as delegated by the Health Visitor within the team in accordance with agreed protocols, acting on own initiative as appropriate to level of knowledge.

To advise parents/carers on positive parenting skills including understanding and managing child behaviour, introduction to solids and nutrition, play and stimulation, speech and language development, sleep management and toilet training, ensuring that advice is evidence based to facilitate school readiness.

To support families in understanding key developmental milestones, including gross and fine motor skills.

To work with specific children and families, in the home, clinic setting or school/nursery according to their individual care plan as agreed with the Health Visitor.es of the job.

To work in partnership with Early Help in the Family Hubs.

  • N.N.E.B./ BTEC Diploma in Child Care or NVQ in Child Care level 3 or equivalent

  • Educated to Diploma level in a health-related subject.

Experience
