Job summary

Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust is looking for a dynamic and skilled Band 6 Specialist Podiatrist to join our team in Barnet.

It is an exciting time to join our teams in Barnet and we are seeking enthusiastic and skilled colleagues to join us as we build on existing models of care and introduce new ways of working.

Our transformation plans over the next 12 months will include further integration with primary care, planned and unplanned care models, and a greater emphasis on population health. All being delivered with the support and leadership of a forward-thinking Senior Management Team.

You will be able to contribute to the creation of what that looks like as well as positively impacting and enhancing theexperiences of our patients in Barnet.

You will provide day-to-day clinical care in a supported environment and within adynamic team. Providing day-to-day professional leadership, you will ensure the needs of patients are placed at the centre ofcare delivery while providing assurance that standards of clinical care within a designated area is of the highest standardattainable

Main duties of the job

To provide specialised treatments with the appropriate skills and knowledge

To autonomously assess and diagnose patients

To have the ability to assess patients with very high risk factors

To create and implement tailored treatment and specialised care plans

To adopt a problem solving approach, engaging patients and carers in their treatment plan

To provide general and specialist foot health advice

To carry out regular Nail Surgery sessions on a rotational basis

To liaise with members of the wider multidisciplinary team

To have a high level of focus and concentration necessary to work in an environment of interruptions and distractions while simultaneously performing complicated and physically demanding treatment.

To delegate care in appropriate circumstances to Podiatry assistants

To maintain accurate patient records including assessment and treatment plans

Ensure that the condition of clinical rooms are maintained in accordance with infection control and the Podiatry service guidelines.

To be involved in developing clinical standards and protocols of care in line with community and service needs.

Essential

  • Diploma/Degree in Podiatric medicine (or the equivalent)
  • Registration with HCPC
  • Certificate in Local Anaesthesia
  • Hold a full, valid, UK driving licence

Desirable

  • First Level Degree
  • Willingness to undertake further training and qualifications to enhance clinical skill base

  • Knowledge of negotiation skills
  • Evidence of expertise in clinical skills
