We have the opportunity for an NQP or experienced Band 5 therapist to join the Biborough SLT education team. The post includes working with a varied caseload across both special schools and mainstream schools in the inner London boroughs of Westminster, and Kensington & Chelsea. We are looking for someone with enthusiasm, excellent interpersonal and team-working skills, and an interest and experience of working with school-aged children and young people.

Main duties of the job
Working with increasing independence to provide assessment, diagnosis, appropriate intervention and discharge for children within the role.
Working closely with children, families and other professionals, providing advice to others regarding the clinical management to support children and young people as relevant to the post.
Supporting the delivery of a wide range of school aged intervention packages in relation to the whole system approach to supporting speech, language and communication needs (SLCN) within designated locality community & school settings.
Understanding and meeting professional and legal SEND responsibilities outlined in the Children and Families Act 2014 including contributing to statutory assessments of special educational needs and delivery of Speech and Language Therapy provision as specified in children's Education Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
Maintaining accountability for own professional actions and recognise own professional boundaries, seeking advice from senior colleagues as appropriate.

- Current registered membership of HCPC and RCSLT

- Good auditory discrimination skills and ability to transcribe speech phonetically

- Understanding of child development including Speech and Language, Play and other milestones
- Knowledge of appropriate range of assessments and interventions for children with Speech, Language and Communication needs and an ability to compare and contrast relative benefits to individual children
