We're seeking a dedicated Consultant Podiatric Surgeon to join our innovative team, providing expert care to patients across London.
Your Role:
- Lead and deliver outpatient and theatre sessions, managing a wide range of podiatric foot conditions.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop personalised treatment plans for patients.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient care.
- Utilize advanced techniques such as POCUS clinics and ultrasound-guided injections.

Essential
- Degree in Podiatric Medicine
- MSc Theory of Podiatric Surgery or equivalent
- Podiatric Surgery annotation with the HCPC
- Current registration with the HCPC
- Non-Medical Independent Prescribing (NMIP)
- Current Immediate Life Support (ILS)
- Certificate of Completion of Podiatric Specialist Training (CCPST)
- IRMER Operator/practitioner certificates
- Immediate Life Support
- Membership of the Royal College of Podiatry
- Attendance of podiatric surgery-appropriate training courses and conferences
Desirable
- Case Accredited Diagnostic Ultrasound Qualification
Experience
Essential
- Assess and diagnose complex foot conditions and then provide appropriate treatment plans.
- Assess and evaluate surgical complications.
- Request and interpret diagnostic data from a variety of sources (e.g., imaging, haematology, microbiology)
- Assess and evaluate patient response to prescribed medicines
- Assess complex health needs and co-morbidities in the context of surgical planning
- Apply highly developed analytical skills to evaluate surgical procedures before, during and after treatment
- Assess risk to patients/staff
- Interpret broad policy/clinical guidelines
- Where available apply knowledge to accomplish evidence-based practice
- Extensive experience working in a Podiatric Surgery Unit
- Extensive experience in performing a wide range of podiatric surgical procedures
- Experience in managing a clinical caseload and staff without close supervision.
- Proven track record of successful patient outcomes and low complication rates.
- Experience working in a team environment within the NHS
- Experience in initiating, developing and implementing change
- To have experience of clinical leadership in Podiatric Surgery

- To prescribe and administer prescription-only drug treatment, including analgesics, antibiotics, and corticosteroid medication through Non-Medical Independent Prescribing
- To liaise closely with GPs, consultants and other healthcare professionals concerning patient care
- To be available for on-call duties during office hours as directed by the locally agreed CLCH NHS Trust policy.
