We are proud to announce that due to internal promotion there is a vacancy for a rehabilitation ward sister on our neuro/stroke unit. We are seeking a confident and seasoned Band 5 staff nurse to elevate into the esteemed role of band 6 ward sister. Nestled in the picturesque Garston area of Watford lies the Holywell Rehabilitation Unit, housed within the Langley House Community Hospital. This 20-bedded ward specialises in the intricate realms of Neuro and Stroke Rehabilitation, serving as a beacon of hope for those and their families on the path to recovery. Holywell is one of the four Hertfordshire Bedded Units and we are proud to all work in unison to provide good safe and holistic patient care to the residents of West Hertfordshire. At the heart of our ethos lies a commitment to delivering impeccable nursing care and rehabilitation, catering to individuals who have undergone life-altering experiences such as strokes, brain tumours, or significant accidents. The salary in the advert reflects the pay increase for 2024-2025. Please be advised that this increase will not come into effect until October 2024 when any monies owed will be back paid.
Main duties of the job
To work alongside the Ward Manager and Modern Matron to have an oversight or day to day running of the unit, and safety of your patients.
To manage all nursing and HCA staff on the ward. This includes delegating to junior nurses within the team.
To work alongside the Ward Manager to plan and set objectives with staff and monitor this through the appraisal system.
Maintain an interest in current stroke and neuro issues and, using critical analysis, assess suitability for application with the ward area
To keep own practice and those around you safe, effective, and up to date by engaging in continued professional development and training.
