Job summary

This post has been specifically created to provide Trust-wide professional leadership for Podiatry . It will therefore provide support to the 80 Registered Podiatrists, Podiatric Surgeons and non - registered Foot Care Support Workers that work across the CLCH footprint.

Reporting to the Lead AHP, the post holder will work collaboratively with key internal and external stakeholders to develop an informed and effective workforce for their AHP profession, ensuring registered and non-registered AHPs have the necessary competencies and skills to provide the best quality care in their roles.

The post holder will be responsible for leading on clinical supervision of the profession ensuring clinical governance with safe, responsive, and effective clinical interventions.

In addition, you will have the opportunity to lead on workforce transformation programmes for your profession including Apprenticeships, Preceptorships, Rotations, Clinical Placement Expansion (Fair Share Model), International Recruitment, Return to Practice and AHP Support Workforce Development.

This role will therefore provide you with excellent experience in a senior leadership role.

Backfill monies are available for 12 months and line manager approval for secondment is required.

Main duties of the job

Key elements of the role include:

Chairing the Trust-wide profession specific Leadership Group

Representing the profession at senior management level in the Divisions

Being the single point of contact for the profession using your professional expertise to support the development of the AHP workforce.

Represent the profession with NHS England, Higher Education Institutions, Integrated Care Systems across London and Hertfordshire as well as the professional bodies.

Represent the profession with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)

Deputise for the Trust AHP Lead as appropriate.

To do this, you will need to demonstrate Professional Leadership and expert practice including active participation in your profession's current strategic agenda.

Your visibility, communication and negotiation skills will be key in bringing together disparate members of your profession from across 5 divisions covering four ICS.

You will understand the education and training needs of your profession. This will include how best to design a workforce that can meet competing priorities while training the workforce we will need tomorrow.

You will help shape high quality clinical services, developing policies and provide clinical assurance.
