Job summary

The London Borough of Brent is situated in North-West London, with the famous Wembley Stadium at its centre. We have vacancies based at both Sudbury Primary Care Centre and Willesden Centre for Health and Care. The posts are full-time (37.5 hours).

The Brent 0-19 service has exciting new opportunities for paediatric or adult nurses to join our team of Health Visitors as Community Staff Nurses. Community Staff Nurses work as part of the Health Visiting team delivering the 0-5 Healthy Child Programme to children and their families living in Brent.

The successful candidates will work with the Health Visiting Service which includes Health Visitors and Community Nursery Nurses to deliver community based public health activities to a universal and enhanced 0-5 population. You will be working alongside Health Visitors and Community Nursery Nurses to supporting families to best meet the needs of their child, to make the best use of community services to help children have the best start in life.

Main duties of the job

You will be involved in partnership work with other NHS Services and Council services for young people, children and families along with voluntary organisations.

We will invest in you and offer training relating to your role as Community Staff Nurse in Health Visiting provided by the CLCH Academy and the 0-19 Service. We will support you in the role as we offer regular supervision (management and safeguarding) and appraisal. We offer a preceptorship programme for newly qualified.

The successful post holder will need to have excellent communication skills and be able to work confidently without direct supervision once competent. They will need to have a good understanding of safeguardingYou must be a qualified nurse registered with the NMC.
