Job summary
Are you looking for a change within the world of pharmacy? Still want to work in the NHS but perhaps move away from secondary care? Still want to utilise transferable skills, want to work as a clinical pharmacist and make a difference to patient care in the community? If so, this could be the post for you.
We are looking for pharmacists to join our established and experienced team to enhance the service provided. You will be joining a team with opportunities to implement your skills and knowledge and develop them further.
This is a split role between community health services and bedded services.
CLCH is one of the largest Community Health Trusts in England, providing services to more than two million people across London and Hertfordshire. It is a diverse sector, providing a range of different services, all with the aim of shifting health care from acute hospital settings closer to people's homes; moving away from reactive care to preventative care based on early interventions.
All roles in the team are considered developmental. As such, and in line with seeking to provide fairness and equal access to opportunities, the recruitment decision will take account of potential in candidates. To this end, demonstrating commitment to meeting the role criteria will be accounted for, alongside already having met them.
Main duties of the job
You will have the opportunity to develop new skills in a patient-centred environment including service transformation, mobilisation projects, change management involving quality improvement as well as further developing leadership and management skills. This role will support the Lead Pharmacist for Bedded Services and the Lead Pharmacist for Community Health Services in developing and motivating the team to implement effective and sustainable change in line with organisational and national priorities including the implementation of Carter 2 recommendations and the NHS 10 year plan.
In your bedded services role you will be developing and supporting the junior staff in delivering a high-quality clinical pharmacy service and medicines optimisation service to patients in Community Hospitals.
In your community health services role you will support the Chief Pharmacist in implementing the Medicines Management Strategy in line with national and local policy and will have the opportunity to develop new skills in directorate activities including financial reporting, risk management and quality improvement.
