Job summary

Children, young people, and families are our focus and passion and we're seeking Nursery Nurses to join our dynamic diverse teams. We champion the role of community health professionals to make sure our families get the best care closer to home and supporting families to keep them well.

There are three main bases for Health Visiting that are aligned to Family Hubs and have an integrated service offer with Early Help services in Westminster Council. The teams are based within Queen's Park Children's Centre, Portman Children's Centre and Bessborough Clinic Family Hub.

WCC forms part of the Inner Northwest London (INW) division and part of a Clinical Service Unit (CSU) that compromises of Hammersmith and Fulham School Nursing and Health Visiting, Kensington and Chelsea Health Visiting and an integrated 0-19 SPA.

There are four teams in the borough; one for targeted health visiting focusing on families with highest need and three universal teams that focus on the universal offer, mandated checks and seeking health needs.

The borough has an Integrated Early Help Prevention Manager and specialist Health Visitors covering perinatal mental health, SEND and infant feeding. Each team has an experienced Team Lead each, qualified Health Visitors, Community Staff Nurses, Nursery Nurses, dedicated Practice Development Nurses. This skill mix works passionately to deliver integrated and progressive services and continue to seek and develop innovative ways of working.

Main duties of the job

Westminster is a great place to work with an abundance of transport options. As a central borough you will be paid inner London weighting of an extra 20% on top of your basic salary! (subject to a minimum payment of £5,132 and a maximum of £7,746). About the borough

Westminster (often shortened WCC) Westminster is an area of the City of Westminster in London. It extends from the River Thames to Oxford Street. WCC has approximately 205,087 residents and 2,059 births a year, with 23& of children experiencing deprivation.

The borough compromises of 132 neighbourhoods of which 34 are in the 20% most income deprived in the England whilst 31 were in the least income deprived. The borough has issues regarding access to services and large variance in deprivation related health meaning the role will be varied and interesting.
