Are you an Occupational Therapist looking for a Band 6 neuro rehab post? An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time Occupational Therapist at Holywell Neurological Rehabilitation Unit, Langley House, Watford, Herts. Holywell is an in-patient rehabilitation unit serving patients in the West Hertfordshire area. The caseload is mainly people with Stroke, but also other complex neurological conditions.
Holywell is a 20 bedded inpatient neurological rehabilitation unit serving patients in the West Hertfordshire area. The caseload is primarily people with Stroke, but also other complex neurological conditions such as Guillain Barre Syndrome, Traumatic Brain Injury, Spinal Injury and Multiple Sclerosis.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for an enthusiastic, flexible and dynamic Occupational Therapist and the ideal candidate will be a highly motivated individual, who is passionate about helping patients to improve their quality of life, helping staff to develop in their roles as well as being able to drive service development.
You will be working with a dedicated multidisciplinary team that includes Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, SALT, Psychologists, Nurses, Doctors, Social Workers, Rehabilitation Assistants and Volunteers. Your role will also involve supporting and developing junior staff including apprentices and students.
As a developing service, there are ample opportunities for service development and building supervision and leadership competencies. Formal development and training opportunities are available through the CLCH Academy. Close links are maintained with the other bed based rehabilitation units within Hertfordshire to support service development and share learning. Plus there are opportunities for networking with the other community neurological teams, other neuro rehab units within CLCH and the acute service.
This post is 37.5 hours a week -part time or flexible hours will be considered.

- Experience of working with neurological patients in delivery of rehabilitation packages or in a rehab setting at Band 5 level
- Documented evidence of professional development and reflective practice in relevant aspects of neurological rehabilitation e.g. attendance at in-service training sessions, reflective practice

- Attendance at relevant post-graduate neurological training courses e.g. Bobath, spasticity management , splinting, cognition and perceptual assessment , fatigue management
