Job summary
The Medical Directorate is looking for a talented and motivated person to work within the clinical effectiveness team to provide leadership to the team. Your primary responsibilities will include creating, implementing, and managing the Trust's annual Clinical Effectiveness Programme. You will be responsible for the operational management of the Clinical Effectiveness Team and will collaborate with the Population Health Team to enable clinical teams to review and act on clinical variation.
Main duties of the job
Your organisational, data analysis, and presentation skills will be essential for this crucial role. In addition, your knowledge and experience in clinical effectiveness will be critical. Your ability to think strategically and analytically will be your strength in successfully managing your role. Your written skills will be excellent as you will produce clinical effectiveness policies, procedures, and reports for various bodies, including the Trust's Quality Committee. You will have line management skills and experience and be knowledgeable about the clinical audit cycle and the national governance and quality improvement agenda.
Your communication skills and experience must be exceptional to enable inspiration and motivation to drive forward initiatives in clinical audit and quality improvement across the Trust. You will be collegiate and collaborative in your approach and exhibit mature relational leadership skills.

- Support staff in improving quality of care through clinical audit and implementing nationally agreed guidance, e.g., NICE and agreed clinical standards/performance indicators reflecting best practice and CLCH values.
- Be responsible for the development and updating of the clinical effectiveness policies and procedures implemented across the organisation, ensuring consistency, quality, on time and within budget.
- Lead on the delivery of clinical effectiveness-specific projects, for example, the Trusts Annual Record Keeping Audit.
- Be proficient in using AMaT the Trusts clinical audit management tool.
- Liaise with the Health Quality Improvement Partnership (HQIP), DDNTs, CBU managers, and professional and clinical leads to ensure national clinical audits relevant to the Trust are being carried out.
- Provide support and advice to staff on implementing and delivering their audit and NICE guidance requirements and monitor their progress to ensure participation and submission deadlines are met / escalated where appropriate.
- Facilitate and manage the Smart Effective Care (CEG) and the NICE Core Group (NCG) meetings.Work with the Clinical Effectiveness Team to organise the annual Clinical Audit Check & Session and clinical audit conferences.
