A great opportunity has arisen for someone with a keen interest in Nutrition, to join the Harrow Community team based at

Alexander Avenue in Harrow.

The Harrow, Community Dietetic Service, provides an extensive GP clinic service, to all practices in Harrow, where children and Adults are seen for a range of conditions.

You will be involved in the booking of patient appointments and liaising with the GP practice staff.

The team specialises, in Home Enteral Nutrition, seeing patients in their own homes or Nursing homes across Harrow. Housebound patients are also provided with care, in their own home or care homes.

You will be involved in carrying out Home-visits, alongside a Dietitian or to carry out a weight with specialist equipment.

You will be developed to undertake dietetic reviews, under the supervision of a Dietitian.

Training Health care professionals and carrying out patient education sessions, is also a key area of work, where you may be required to support the work of the Dietitian, in delivering education or training sessions.

Harrow has a diverse population, with a wide selection of nutrition related conditions are prevalent within the Community.

A car driver is useful, but not essential to the role. However, you will have access to a shared car, for your use.

Main duties of the job

To support and help the general running of the Community dietetic services, under the guidance and supervision from the Registered Dietitian.

Following initial assessment of the patient by the dietitian the dietetic assistant may implement the nutritional care plan, review the patient and feedback to the dietitian as required. To review acceptance of nutritional products prescribed by the Dietitian and ensuring the patient is weighed regularly.
