Job description
Job responsibilities
The Medical Support Worker will work within a multi-disciplinary team of healthcare professional including nursing staff, pharmacists, allied health professionals and medical staff. You will undertake a range of essential routine tasks under the supervision and delegated authority of the relevant senior doctor in charge of the clinical area in which you are employed. The post will require you to work flexibly in a shift pattern.
We understand that there are many reasons that medical practitioners are not registered to practise medicine in the UK, these can vary from individuals who have relinquished their licence to practice some time ago to doctors who qualified in other countries and who have not yet fulfilled all the requirements for professional licence to practice in the UK. This mayinclude refugee doctors or international medical graduates.
While all such doctors have some medical knowledge, it is imperative for patient safety that they are not mistaken for registered doctors. They must not undertake any procedures or clinical work that may only be done by a registered health care professional.
The Medical Support Worker role will offer individuals the opportunity to demonstrate foundation medical training competency.
Please refer to the attached Job Description for full list of responsibilities.
