Job summary
We are looking for a Health Visitor who has a passion for perinatal and infant mental health. If you have experience of working with mothers who suffer from perinatal mental health, you have skills in supporting the parent-child relationship, you are looking to join an innovative service which puts children, young people and their families at the centre of all that they do, this is the job for you.
We are an innovative service that embraces digital technology; this includes a robust website, use of video appointments, webinars for parents and Health Matters, text message advice service for parents and young people. Within our 0-19 public health service offer, we facilitate in Talking Times, which is an evidence-based group invention using a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) approach that is facilitated for women with perinatal mental illness and their babies.
Are you dynamic, motivated and have an enthusiasm for shaping services for families. We are looking for someone to lead on enhancing our perinatal and infant mental health offer within our public health service 0-5 service and support the development of emotional health and wellbeing services for children and young people within the wider 0-19 public health service.
Main duties of the job
We will be looking for an experienced Health Visitor for this permanent position, who must have strong well developed skills in working with families where perinatal and infant mental health may be a concern.
Evidence of recent professional development in this area and an interest in positive mental health for the whole family is also required. You must have experience in delivering training, developing public health projects and facilitating change. You will need to have good organisational skills and be an excellent communicator.

Job responsibilities
The Specialist Health Visitor for Perinatal and Infant Mental Health will provide relevant consultation, training and support to the universal childrens services. The emphasis will be on early intervention, prevention of mental health difficulties, and the promotion of positive relationships between parents and their infants. The post holder will work with a range ofstakeholders and partners to best meet the needs of children and families where there are identified perinatal and mental health concerns, seeking to reduce health inequalities and improve outcomes. This includes safeguarding children and young people identified as at risk of harm. To act as a resource for the mainstream 0-19 service providing expert advice andguidance. To act as an advocate for families with perinatal/infant mental health concerns with relevant stakeholders.
