An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Trust as a Matron for In-Patient Services on a 9-month secondment. This is a key senior leadership role within our inpatient division, offering the opportunity to provide strong professional/ operational leadership and to influence service delivery at a strategic level.
You will be responsible for the management, quality, safety and performance of inpatient nursing services. You will work collaboratively with the Senior Management Team to ensure high standards of patient care, staff experience and clinical governance, while supporting service transformation and improvement.
This role is ideal for an experienced senior nurse leader who is passionate about delivering outstanding patient-centred care, developing teams, and driving innovation in a community inpatient setting.
To succeed in this role, you will have:
Substantial nursing leadership and management experience
Experience of leading inpatient services and managing complex teams
A proven track record in quality improvement, governance and service development
Excellent communication, leadership and influencing skills
A commitment to equality, diversity and inclusive leadership
Main duties of the job
The post holder will:
Provide visible professional and operational leadership across inpatient wards and services
Be accountable for the delivery, quality and performance of inpatient nursing services
Ensure safe, effective and compassionate care for patients and their families
Lead workforce planning, recruitment, retention and staff development initiatives
Drive quality improvement, audit and service development projects
Promote a positive, inclusive and supportive culture for staff
Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, senior leaders and external partners to improve pathways and outcomes
