Job summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic and conscientious Paediatric Dental Consultant to join the team at Birmingham Community Health Care Trust. The position will involve sessions with in the community clinics and at Birmingham Dental Hospital. There will be a close working relationship with the University of Birmingham School Of Dentistry.
Applications are invited from candidates who expect to complete a SAC approved post-CCT 2 year Fixed Term Training Appointment within 6 months of the interview date and have obtained the Intercollegiate Specialty Fellowship in Paediatric Dentistry. Applications are also invited from those that have already completed training and those already in a consultant post.
Main duties of the job
The Consultant will join a passionate and committed team. This post will continue to develop and deliver specialist paediatric dentistry within the geography of Dudley, Sandwell, Walsall and Birmingham. All health centres where specialist services are delivered are equipped to a high standard and there will be opportunities to participate in general anaesthesia services. There will be a teaching commitment, both in the support of undergraduate dental and dental therapy students and postgraduate pre-specialty and specialty training in paediatric dentistry along with development of dentists and DCPs working within the CDS aiming to develop additional skills in paediatric dentistry.
