Job summary

The Education Director will provide visionary and strategic leadership of Trust wide Education, Training and Learning across the Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust (BCHC). This will include the development, implementation and operationalisation of a BCHC Education Strategy which will serve the needs of the whole workforce and pre and post registration students, Advanced Practice and supports new ways of working and models of care in the community. As a senior director within the Trust, the post holder is required to work autonomously in order to lead and contribute to the overall achievement of the Trust's Education Strategy, providing authoritative advice on all aspects of education, training and development.

Main duties of the job

To lead on the operational management of the Education team ensuring day to day delivery of activity and business continuity, supporting the delivery of a multi-disciplinary/ multi-professional education portfolio and leading by example to support excellent communication and effective matrix working within the Education, Corporate and Divisional teams and external stakeholders/partners

he post holder will provide advice and support to ensure education plans are flexible to meet immediate demand and future focused to meet developing service needs in the context of the local and national workforce challenges across BCHC.

The post holder will be required to communicate effectively with the Trust board on highly complex matters, including presenting board reports.

To produce board level reports managing highly complex and sensitive data.

Work with Medical and Non-Medical Directors/leads to ensure that clinical and non-clinical educational programmes are consistent with service needs and are flexible enough to fit operationally.

Establishing annual budgets for Professional Learning and work closely with the Finance Team and colleagues within BCHC to anticipate and cost income and expenditure.
