Job summary

Day to day proactive leadership and management and development of the HR Team, in addition to delivering a comprehensive HR service to a complex Division with specific recruitment and retention challenges. The successful candidate will be educated to degree level or equivalent and achieved CIPD, have a proven track record of delivering on targets, work well under pressure, be highly organised, have excellent communication skills and have significant competence in analysing and presenting data as part of workforce data forums. The candidate will be able to operate in an environment of rapid change and conflicting priorities and have previous NHS or public sector experience. Expert knowledge of the full range of HR policies and procedures and excellent working knowledge of employment legislation is essential.

Main duties of the job

Be lead focal point for the HR Team and operational managers withinAdult Specialist Rehabilitation Division, involving travelling to various Divisional sites facilitating effective delivery of health services via provision of comprehensive proactive HR service, including annual workforce planning, overseeing complex casework and management of organisational change programmes. Will focus on delivering the operational portfolio within the Division. The successful candidate will be CIPD qualified and will have substantial experience of delivering strategic level HR advice to senior managers and Directors in a large, complex organisation and significant experience of leading on and dealing with organisational change and complex employee relations issues. Will support embedding a "Just and Learning Culture" as part of the Trust's management of conduct within its Disciplinary Policy promoting the Trust's values and its "Equity and Inclusion" agenda.

Will have extensive knowledge of operational HR within the NHS, including the management of complex casework and organisational change providing best practice advice and experience of providing advice to a Divisional group and infrastructure / Divisional Leadership Board on the full range of HR issues. This role can operate on flexible hours basis however is not suitable for remote working as the core of the role is embedded within the Divisional Team who have on site presence.

The Adult Specialist Rehabilitation Division are seeking a highly experienced, resilient, and motivated HR Business Partner to join their complex and fast paced Division.

The Adult Specialist Rehabilitation Division employs approximately 1,250 dedicated staff. The Division offers a broad range of services to individuals living in Birmingham and the West Midlands across a range of locations including Inpatient Services in Moseley Hall Hospital and West Heath Hospital, in addition to Intermediate Care Units situated in Kingstanding, Sheldon Heath and Good Hope Hospital.

There are also a range of outpatient services which are delivered from various sites across the region including West Midlands Rehabilitation Centre. The aim of the Division is to deliver high quality integrated pathways of care, maximising patient outcomes and maintaining the independence of the people we serve across Birmingham and the regional healthcare system. This is achieved through preventing admissions to hospital, and supporting patients to remain in their homes, or return home quickly after a hospital admission with appropriate care packages. It is important that patients and their carers feel reassured and empowered by the services we provide and that they are actively involved the care we offer, promoting choice and dignity.
