Job summary
We are lookingfor 2 motivated and enthusiastic Band 7 Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapists to work within our Community SLT and Stroke Teams. The post-holders will become part of the Community Neuro-rehabilitation MDT Leadership Team and will deliver specialist multidisciplinary assessments as well as specific Speech and Language interventions to the adult population of Birmingham and patients who have suffered from a recent stroke.
The successful candidates will have a wide range of clinical experience across neurorehabilitation (incl Stroke) and related adult care pathways. They will have a proven track record of developing and evaluating services and an understanding of collaborative working across multiple agencies. A passion for delivering pathways of care that meet both high clinical standards, and the needs of individuals and their families and carers is sought.
In return, you will be working closely with existing stroke services and adult Speech and Language Team, have the support of the wider management and leadership team and have access to clinical supervision and peer support.

Main duties of the job
Deliver a high-quality, evidence based, Specialist Speech and Language Therapy (SLT) service to complex stroke patients and adults with SLT needs.Work autonomously within professional guidelines and exercise responsibility for the systematic governance of SLT practice within the Services.Play an integral part within the Out-Patients Group SLT Team both clinically and developmentally.Support Training and development of fellow staff members from all professions as well as students, Apprentices and therapy support workers.
Undergo Clinical Supervision and regular clinical peer review.
