The Birmingham School Health Support Service provides confidential advice, care and support to schools, children, young people and their parents.
The service aims to protect and promote the physical and emotional well-being of children to ensure that they get the most of their education and life beyond.

Main duties of the job
As a Student School Health Nurse with us you will be supported by Birmingham City University for the 50% academic study requirements of the course. The training is offered fulltime commencing 4th September 2023 with fixed holidays set throughout the 52 week duration of the course. You must be a car driver with access to a suitable vehicle for business purposes
Throughout the course theory will be embedded into practice and as an NMC registrant you will be expected to further develop your communication, leadership and reflective skills. In practice you will be supported by dedicated and innovative School Nursing colleagues who are committed to supporting and developing Student School Health Nurses and then welcoming newly qualified School Nurse into teams.
Salary Band 5 /6 £25,655 - £39,027

Please note that successful applicants who are able to evidence their current salary and appropriate experience (for non NHS candidates) will be remunerated at their current salary pay point/in accordance with the Trust's Guidance on Starting Salaries up to the maximum pay point of Agenda for Change Band 6 for the duration of the Student School Nursing course. .
